The Quintessential Experience of Pinnawala Open Zoo
The Pinnawala Open Zoo, opened in 2015, is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka. It was designed according to modern zoo standards, moving away from traditional cages to large, open enclosures. The zoo is divided into two sections: the Sri Lankan zone and the World zone. The Sri Lankan zone features local wildlife like the Sri Lankan Leopard and Sloth Bear, while the World zone houses exotic animals. It provides a more ethical and educational look at wildlife for visitors to the Kegalle area.
